CURE India, in collaboration with LTMMC & Sion Hospital, Mumbai, successfully conducted its 176th Medical Training on the Ponseti Method for Clubfoot Management, marking another important step towards strengthening clinical capacity and expanding access to timely clubfoot care.
The training was inaugurated by the Dean of LTMMC & GH, alongside Academic Dean Dr. Sudhir Pawar and HoD Medicine Dr. Nitin D. Karnik. The session brought together 54 Medical Officers, Pediatricians, and Orthopaedic specialists, creating an important platform for knowledge sharing and professional learning.
The training focused on the importance of early identification and timely intervention in clubfoot management. Strengthening the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals plays a vital role in ensuring that children born with clubfoot are identified early and connected with appropriate treatment.
The programme supports the Government of Maharashtra’s initiative to ensure that every child can walk free from the limitations of untreated clubfoot. Through continued medical training and collaboration with healthcare institutions, CURE India works to strengthen the network of trained professionals who can provide appropriate clubfoot care.
The successful completion of the 176th training reflects the importance of sustained collaboration and capacity building in advancing child healthcare.
CURE India extends its heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of Sion Hospital, the dedicated CURE India Maharashtra team, and Dr. Santhosh George, Founder & Director of CURE India, for their visionary leadership, continuous guidance, and commitment to advancing the mission of accessible clubfoot care.
Every trained healthcare professional can play a crucial role in helping children access timely treatment. By combining medical expertise, institutional collaboration, and community-focused healthcare initiatives, we can continue moving towards a future where every child has the opportunity to walk, play, and grow without the burden of untreated clubfoot.
