The Culmination of Art and Accessibility: How AXI – Powered by CURE India is Breaking Barriers to Creativity and Mobility

The final echoes of dialogue and the soft tapping of assistive technology marked the successful conclusion of the two-day Accessible Art Exhibition at the Blind Relief Association. While the physical exhibition has ended, the impact of this initiative is only beginning to resonate across the city. Through AXI – Powered by CURE India, we have witnessed a powerful truth: that when accessibility is a priority, creativity knows no bounds.
Day 2 of the exhibition deepened the spirit of engagement, bringing together persons with visual impairment, artists, and the general public in a shared experience of dignified inclusion. We extend our deepest, most heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Smriti Singh, Professor at the University of Delhi, whose visionary leadership ensured that accessibility remained the cornerstone of this event.
As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India (or simply CURE) views this collaboration as a natural extension of our medical mission. Whether we are correcting a child’s path through life or opening the world of art to those who cannot see it, our goal is the same—total inclusion.
The exhibition was a masterclass in modern accessibility. Visitors explored tactile artworks, "seeing" the essence of paintings through touch and sound. Using innovative assistive technology, guests used their phones to access rich audio descriptions that translated complex textures, colors, and emotions into immersive narratives.
This focus on technology and dignity mirrors our approach to healthcare. Just as AXI uses digital interfaces to bridge the gap in the arts, CURE India utilizes the Ponseti method—the globally recognized non-surgical gold standard—to bridge the gap between disability and a healthy, active life for children born with Clubfoot. For the families we serve, both initiatives represent a world that values their potential over their limitations.
While the AXI exhibition took place in a gallery, CURE India’s heart remains in the hundreds of clinics we operate nationwide. We are proud to manage the largest clubfoot program in the world, having documented the most number of clubfoot children treated globally (over 118,000 and counting).
Our national presence allows us to provide Free Treatment to every child who walks through our doors. This clinical journey involves:
By removing the financial burden of care, we ensure that social impact is not a luxury, but a right for every child in the country.
The success of the AXI initiative highlights the scale of what we can achieve when we unite for a common cause. Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. While this achievement has established our reputation as a Top 10 NGO in the country, our sights are set much higher.
Through our RunFree2030 initiative, we are committed to scaling up to 70% coverage in the next 5 years. To reach this goal, we need the same spirit of volunteerism and support we saw at the Blind Relief Association. Every child identified early and every parent supported is a step toward an India where no child is left behind.
We know that for our donors, medical professionals, and partners, credibility is paramount. Being recognized among the Top 10 NGO's in India is a responsibility we meet through absolute transparency of fund usage.
When you choose to make a donation to CURE India, your support is funneled directly into the tools of transformation:
The conclusion of the Accessible Art Exhibition is not an end, but a call to action. We invite the general public to help us make the RunFree2030 vision a reality:
Creativity transcends limitations, and inclusion strengthens communities. Together, we are building an India that walks with confidence and sees with the heart.
