Reducing the Distance to Healing: How Our Newest Clinic in Virudhunagar is Bringing World-Class Clubfoot Care to the Doorsteps of Families

In the heart of Tamil Nadu, the city of Virudhunagar is celebrating a significant victory for child health and disability inclusion. CURE India is proud to announce that our newest Clubfoot Clinic is now fully operational and ready to serve. For families in this region, this isn't just a new medical facility; it is the end of long, exhausting, and expensive journeys to distant cities in search of specialized care.
By establishing this local presence, we are ensuring that the "burden of travel" never becomes a "burden of disability." When treatment is accessible and close to home, the likelihood of a child completing their full recovery journey increases exponentially.
The inauguration of the Virudhunagar clinic was made possible through the dedicated support of HOD – Dr. Karthik and his exceptional hospital team. Their commitment to integrating clubfoot care into their existing orthopedic services is a prime example of the public-private partnerships that fuel CURE’s national presence.
We also extend a special appreciation to our State Program Coordinator (SPC), Ms. Sithara, whose tireless coordination with the Tamil Nadu health authorities and hospital staff ensured that this clinic moved from a vision to a life-changing reality.
The core mission of our new Virudhunagar clinic is to provide the Ponseti method, the globally recognized, non-surgical gold standard for clubfoot treatment. This method is highly effective and gentle, involving a series of corrective plaster casts followed by a vital maintenance phase.
To ensure long-term success, every child in our program is provided with:
Because CURE India provides Free Treatment and provides the high-quality FAB braces at no cost, we remove the financial barriers that often prevent families from seeking the care their children deserve.

CURE India has achieved the distinction of being the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children globally. This scale of operation is why we are recognised to be the Top 10 NGO's/Non-Profits in India/in the country.
For our donors, medical professions, and the general public, our reputation is built on transparency of fund usage and credibility. We believe that every Donation is a choice to invest in a child's mobility and independence. Our national presence allows us to maintain strict clinical oversight, ensuring that every rupee contributed directly translates into a child taking their first steps.
Our journey toward a clubfoot-free nation is guided by the ambitious and urgent RunFree2030 mission. Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of all children born with clubfoot in India. While this is a monumental achievement, we are aggressively scaling up to reach 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years.
Every new clinic, like the one in Virudhunagar, is a critical building block in this expansion. By decentralizing care and moving closer to the grassroots, we are ensuring that by 2030, no child in India is left behind due to a lack of resources or awareness.
The opening of the Virudhunagar clinic is just the beginning. You can help us fill this new space with hope and healing.
Together, through expansion and partnership, we are ensuring that every child in Tamil Nadu and across India can walk, run, and thrive.
Together, we make hope walk.
