Thursday’s Transformation: How Mahatma Gandhi Hospital and CURE India are Partnering to Eradicate Clubfoot in Rajasthan

In the heart of Rajasthan, the city of Bhilwara has just taken a monumental step toward a future where no child is restricted by a treatable birth defect. CURE India is proud to announce the successful inauguration of a new Weekly Clubfoot Management Clinic at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Bhilwara. This milestone is not just about a new medical service; it is about reclaiming the right of every child to walk, run, and play without the shadow of a preventable disability.
Spearheaded by our team member Mr. Subhasish Garain and the dedicated Rajasthan team, this clinic will now operate every Thursday. For the families of Bhilwara and the surrounding regions, this means regular, high-quality care is now accessible right in their community, removing the exhausting and expensive hurdles of long-distance travel to major urban centers.
The success of CURE's national presence is built on the strength of our partnerships with government healthcare systems and committed medical professionals. The inauguration was graced by a team of esteemed doctors who share our vision of a "Clubfoot-Free India." We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Dinesh (Orthopaedic HOD), Dr. Mahesh, Dr. Prabin, and Dr. Manish, along with Mrs. Baby Kanwar (Counsellor) and the Nursing Officer.
Their clinical leadership ensures that every child entering Mahatma Gandhi Hospital receives treatment that adheres to the highest global standards. By integrating this weekly clinic into the hospital's existing infrastructure, we are creating a sustainable model of healing that will transform lives for generations to most.
For the medical professions and the general public supporting our mission, it is important to understand why this clinic is a game-changer. At CURE India, we exclusively utilize the Ponseti method—the globally recognized, non-surgical gold standard for clubfoot management.
This treatment is highly effective, achieving full correction in over 95% of cases through:
Through our program, we provide Free Treatment and the necessary FAB braces at no cost to the parents. By removing the financial burden, we ensure that a child's mobility is determined by medical excellence, not by a family’s economic status.

CURE India has achieved the distinction of being the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children globally. Our relentless focus on clinical outcomes and organizational integrity has led us to be recognised to be the Top 10 NGO's/Non-Profits in India/in the country.
For our donors, our reputation is built on absolute credibility and transparency of fund usage. We understand that every Donation is a sacred trust. Our presence in over 460 clinics nationwide allows us to maintain strict oversight, ensuring that every rupee contributed directly supports the medical supplies, training, and specialized braces required to make a lasting social impact.
Our journey toward a clubfoot-free nation is guided by the ambitious and urgent RunFree2030 mission. Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of all children born with clubfoot in India. While this is a landmark achievement, thousands of children still lack access to care. We are aggressively scaling up to reach 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years.
Every new clinic, such as the one in Bhilwara, is a critical brick in the foundation of this expansion. By moving closer to the grassroots and strengthening our provincial teams, we are ensuring that by 2030, no child in India is left behind.
The opening of the Bhilwara clinic is a call to action for the general public and supporters everywhere. You can be the catalyst for a child’s first step.
Together, with the support of the medical staff at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital and our compassionate donors, we are ensuring that every child in Rajasthan can walk confidently into a brighter, more mobile future.
Together, we make hope walk.
