The Unbreakable Bond: How a Mother's Hope Leads to Her Daughter's New Steps

At CURE India, we are privileged to witness countless stories of courage, love, and transformation. Among them, the journey of a mother and her daughter at AIIMS stands out as a powerful testament to the fact that healing begins with hope. This dedicated mother was her daughter's unwavering support system, standing by her side through every phase of her clubfoot treatment, from the application of the very first cast to the joyous, confident steps of a little girl set free.
Their story is a beautiful reflection of the thousands of families we serve. It highlights the profound impact of a parent’s love in a child’s journey toward mobility. For many, the diagnosis of clubfoot can feel overwhelming, but with expert care and compassionate support, it becomes a path to a brighter future. This mother's courage in navigating the process and her daughter's resilience are an inspiring reminder of what can be achieved when hope is the guiding force.
This incredible journey was made possible by the dedicated medical professionals who apply the globally recognized Ponseti method, the gold standard for non-surgical clubfoot treatment. This method, along with the consistent support from parents, ensures that children can achieve full correction and walk without pain or shame. CURE India is proud to have treated the most number of clubfoot children in the world, a testament to the effectiveness of our programs and the commitment of our medical teams.
Our success is built on a foundation of credibility and transparency of fund usage, which is why we are consistently recognized among the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India. Every donation we receive goes directly towards providing free treatment to children who need it most. We believe that no child should be denied the chance to walk because of their family’s financial situation. This commitment to free treatment is at the heart of our mission and is a core reason for our significant social impact.
As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our vision is far more ambitious. Through our RunFree2030 initiative, we are determined to scale up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This is a monumental task that requires a widespread national presence and the support of a compassionate community of donors and volunteers.
The story of the mother and daughter at AIIMS is a call to action. It shows us that with your help, we can make more stories like theirs a reality. Your support can give a child the gift of mobility and a life full of possibilities.
