Empowering the Future: Pune Ponseti Training with Eminent Experts Marks 155th Milestone

On September 13, 2025, CURE India celebrated a significant achievement by successfully conducting its 155th Training Program on the Ponseti Method of Clubfoot Management at the prestigious B.J. Medical College & Sassoon General Hospital, Pune. This milestone event underscored our deep commitment to empowering medical professionals and reinforcing our mission of ensuring “No Child is Born to Walk with Clubfoot.” The session, which drew medical practitioners eager to refine their skills, was led by eminent experts, Dr. Mathew Varghese and Dr. Kiran Rajappa, and hosted by Dr. Shrinivas, HOD Orthopaedics, whose institutional support is invaluable to our training network.
The dedication of the medical community was deeply encouraging, but the training’s purpose was perhaps best illuminated by the presence of children during the sessions. Their laughter and boundless energy made the learning more impactful and inspiring, instantly reminding every participant of the true purpose of our work: giving every child the chance to walk with confidence. We were also delighted to have the presence of Dr. Aman and Ms. Swapna from the Bajaj Finserv CSR Team. This vital CSR partnership continues to strengthen our mission, providing essential support that enables us to deliver sustainable, high-quality free treatment across our clinics, ensuring that families receive the continuous ClubfootCare they need.
This continuous training—now marking its 155th session—is a key pillar of our credibility and social impact. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children, and our success is inextricably linked to the rigorous, uniform training provided across our massive national presence. We are honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction earned by our unwavering commitment to the transparency of fund usage and ethical stewardship. Partnerships like the one with Bajaj Finserv are essential for sustaining this scale, validating our operational efficiency and maximizing the reach of every donation made to the cause.
Our work is driven by an urgent and inspiring vision. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. Training programs like this Pune Ponseti Training are essential to build the capacity of the medical workforce required for this expansion. We invite all citizens, medical professionals, and organizations to partner with us. Whether through a financial donation or dedicating your time to volunteer, your support provides the momentum needed to turn this vision into reality for thousands of children.
The presence of the children at the training was a beautiful reminder that healing is about hope, not just skill. We are profoundly grateful to the faculty, participants, and partners for their unwavering commitment.
