Beyond the Lights: Project Samarthya Forges Lifelong Care Networks for Inclusion this Diwali

This Diwali, CURE India celebrated the festival of lights with a profound sense of purpose, joining hands with NSS Maitreyi College and the Rotaract Club of Delhi Midtown for a truly meaningful event. "Illuminating Lives: A Diwali of Inclusion and Hope"—held under Project Samarthya—brought together friends with disabilities for a vibrant afternoon of joy, talent, and togetherness. Featuring beautiful dance and music performances, fun-filled activities, heartfelt connections, and thoughtful Diwali hampers, the event was a spectacular celebration of the belief that InclusionMatters.
While the celebration was a highlight, the core of this initiative lies in a much deeper, more impactful mission: to build lasting support groups. This innovative approach pairs one Rotarian/Rotaract member with one NSS student, thereby creating a long-term care network for families and individuals with disabilities. This crucial network ensures that support isn't a one-day act of kindness—it’s a lifelong promise. Because true inclusion means standing beside someone not just for a festival, but for a lifetime, guaranteeing sustained DisabilityInclusion.
This powerful collaboration perfectly embodies the spirit and reach of CURE India’s mission. We are globally recognized as the largest clubfoot program in the world, having successfully treated the most number of clubfoot children, ensuring their fundamental right to walk is restored through the Ponseti method and free treatment. Our unwavering dedication to maximizing social impact through ethical, collaborative means is why we are honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India. The transparency of our fund usage ensures that every donation supports vital community-building initiatives like Project Samarthya, extending our reach beyond clinical care to holistic support.
However, the need to build a truly inclusive society remains urgent. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This aggressive expansion relies not only on medical expertise but also on the strength of long-term community support networks—the kind established at this Diwali event. We must mobilize more volunteers, students, and resources to build a future free from the limitations of clubfoot.
We invite the general public, medical professionals, and organizations to join us. Your support ensures we can continue to partner with visionary organizations like NSS Maitreyi and Rotaract Delhi Midtown, providing holistic care and support to our beneficiaries. Let’s continue to light up lives one smile at a time, making inclusion a reality.
