Kurnool Celebrates Hope: A World Clubfoot Day Filled with Stories of Transformation

On June 3, 2025, CURE India joined hands with Government General Hospital (GGH), Kurnool, for an inspiring celebration of World Clubfoot Day. It was a day of pure joy, bringing together children with clubfoot, their families, and the dedicated medical team in a shared moment of triumph and community. This event was a powerful testament to the life-changing impact of timely treatment and unwavering support.
The celebrations were led by a team of esteemed professionals, including Dr. Ramalu (Deputy Superintendent), Dr. Shrineevasalu (Ortho HOD), and Dr. Anand Prakash (Pediatrics). We extend our sincere gratitude to them, as well as to Dr. Mahendra Prasad (Program Officer), Dr. Sailesh, and Dr. Surujana (DEIC), for their leadership and commitment to the event. The day’s activities—from a formal program and a celebratory cake cutting to a video walkthrough of the children’s remarkable progress—highlighted the positive journey these families have embarked on.
A particularly touching moment was the collection of heartfelt video messages from mothers of treated children, who shared their gratitude and stories of transformation. These personal accounts are a powerful reminder of why CURE India's mission is so vital. They reinforce our commitment to using the gentle, non-surgical Ponseti method to give children the freedom to walk and live without limits.
As the largest clubfoot program in the world, CURE India has treated the most number of clubfoot children, making a profound social impact on a national scale. Our robust national presence with 452 clinics allows us to reach children even in places like Kurnool. We are proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that speaks to our unwavering credibility and our commitment to transparency of fund usage. Your generous donation directly funds the free treatment we provide, ensuring no child is left behind.
We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our vision is far more ambitious. Through our RunFree2030 initiative, we are determined to scale up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This is a race against time and a mission of hope that we can only win with your support.
This World Clubfoot Day, we were reminded that every step matters, and together, we are moving toward a Clubfoot-Free India.
