A Day of Hope: CURE India Marks World Clubfoot Day in Shimla

At CURE India, our mission to ensure a Clubfoot-Free India is a journey powered by passion, collaboration, and a shared belief in the power of hope. This commitment was on full display on June 3, 2025, as we proudly joined the World Clubfoot Day celebrations at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. This event was a powerful reminder of the importance of community and collective action in transforming lives.

The celebration brought together dedicated parents, children, and healthcare professionals, all united by a common cause. We extend a heartfelt thank you to our District Program Coordinator, Mandeep Sandhu, for organizing this meaningful event and to Dr. Shilpa, DEIC Medical Officer, for gracing the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Her inspiring words resonated with everyone present, reinforcing the critical importance of early intervention and urging us all to continue working toward a more inclusive future.

CURE India is the largest clubfoot program in the world, and our presence at events like this underscores our commitment to a robust national presence. We have treated the most number of clubfoot children globally, making a significant social impact on countless lives. Our success is built on a foundation of credibility and a steadfast commitment to transparency of fund usage. As one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, we ensure that every donation directly funds life-changing care, provided entirely free of cost.

We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India, but our vision is much larger. Through our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative, we are determined to scale up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This urgent goal is driven by our belief that no child should have to live with a treatable disability. Our work, from organizing awareness events in places like Shimla to providing expert care using the Ponseti method, is a testament to this unwavering commitment.

This World Clubfoot Day celebration was a powerful symbol of moving with strength and compassion toward a future where every child can walk with confidence. Your support helps us organize these vital events and continue our life-changing work, one step at a time.
