A Day of Dignity and Determination: CURE India’s National World Clubfoot Day Celebration in Delhi

On June 3rd, 2026, the Swarna Jayanti Auditorium at Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, became the stage for a powerful testament to medical progress and community unity. To mark #WorldClubfootDay, CURE India hosted a national celebration that brought together the architects of our mission—from distinguished Rotary leaders and corporate partners to the brave families whose journeys inspire our work.

Led by our Director, Dr. Santhosh George, the event served as a clarion call for the #RunFree2030 vision, reinforcing the fundamental truth that disability caused by clubfoot is entirely preventable when met with early intervention and high-quality care.

Distinguished Leadership for a Common Cause

The event was graced by individuals whose commitment to service is reshaping the landscape of social impact in India:

  • Rotary Leadership: We were honored to welcome Rtn. Ajeet Jalan, District Governor 3011 (2026–2027), accompanied by eminent Rotary members Rtn. Raman Bhatia and Rtn. Amar Nath Goyal. Their continued partnership is a cornerstone of our ability to scale grassroots health initiatives.
  • Corporate Collaboration: We were privileged to host Mr. Shailesh Tiwari (Executive Director I/c, Pipelines) and Mr. Rajiv Ranjan (L&D, IiPM Gurugram) from Indian Oil Corporation Limited. Their presence underscores the vital importance of corporate-social synergy in funding and sustaining pediatric rehabilitation programs.

The Heart of the Celebration: Celebrating Mobility

Beyond the speeches and formalities, the day belonged to the children and their families. We celebrated the courage of our "little warriors"—children whose progress serves as a living advertisement for the efficacy of the Ponseti method.

Through interactive sessions and moving success stories, the celebration highlighted:

  • Early Identification: The necessity of screening newborns for clubfoot to begin treatment immediately.
  • Clinical Excellence: The role of hospital staff and orthopaedic specialists in ensuring that every child is fitted correctly with a FAB (Foot Abduction Brace).
  • Empowered Caregivers: Recognizing the essential role parents play in the treatment process, proving that their dedication is the ultimate "cure."

A Vision for the Future: #RunFree2030

As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India is built on institutional credibility and a radical transparency of fund usage. We currently operate the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children in medical history.

Our roadmap is clear:

  • Currently: Treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India.
  • The 5-Year Goal: Through our #RunFree2030 mission, we are scaling our presence to reach 70% of all affected children by 2030.
  • Our Promise: Every donation is accounted for, ensuring that resources directly fund the clinical casting materials and braces that allow children to transition from disability to independence.

Gratitude & Call to Action

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every participant who made this event a success—the doctors, hospital staff, Rotary partners, Indian Oil representatives, and our tireless National and Delhi teams. Your combined commitment is the reason children in India are walking today.

Join us in making clubfoot history:

  1. Support the Mission: Your donation provides Free Treatment to a child who would otherwise face a lifetime of disability. Support our work at cure.org.in/donate.
  2. Spread the Message: Share the success stories from World Clubfoot Day. When more people understand that clubfoot is treatable, we collectively dismantle the stigma that keeps families from seeking help.
  3. Stay Engaged: Follow our national progress as we work state by state to ensure no child is left behind.

Together, we are not just correcting feet; we are building a more inclusive and compassionate future where every child can walk, run, and achieve their dreams.
