A Day of Compassion: Rotary and Youth Unite to Support the Clubfoot Project at SNP Hospital

It was a truly memorable day at our Clubfoot Project at SNP Hospital, filled with a unique blend of youthful enthusiasm and established commitment to service. We had the profound pleasure of hosting two vital groups: the Interacters of BDM International School, guided by Ms. Tilottama Ma’am, and esteemed Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Calcutta Chowringhee. The students instantly filled the clinic with light, bringing sweets and joy for our little warriors undergoing the Ponseti method of treatment. This beautiful blend of compassion and action demonstrates how multi-generational collaboration is the powerful engine driving lasting change for ClubfootCare.

The visit highlighted the comprehensive nature of our mission. The seven enthusiastic Interacters, led by the dedication of Rtn. Ms. Nirja Jhunjhunwala, focused on the human side of healing, reminding us that HealingWithCompassion is just as important as the plaster casts. Simultaneously, Rotarians, including the Past President of Rotary Club District 3291, Mr. Gaurav Gupta, honored us with their presence to review patients and further extended their strategic Rotary Club Clubfoot Support to our mission. The sight of these young students and established community leaders working side-by-side to bring hope to families beautifully embodies the collaborative spirit required to tackle a public health issue of this scale.

This kind of community endorsement reinforces the credibility of our work. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children, our success is built on a foundation of trust. We are deeply honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that is a testament to our transparent and impactful use of resources. This vast network, which ensures free treatment across our massive national presence, is directly sustained by strategic partnerships like those with the Rotary Club and the engagement of young volunteers like the students from BDM International School. Your continued donation directly supports the infrastructure that makes these local visits and widespread social impact possible, ensuring the ethical transparency of fund usage.

However, the journey requires urgent attention to reach every child. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. Partnerships with organizations like the Rotary Club provide the critical framework, while the energy of the Interacters and other volunteers provides the grassroots momentum needed to identify children early and guide their families to our clinics. Every smile shared and every commitment made during this visit moves us closer to a future where disability caused by clubfoot is eradicated.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to every Rotarian, to Ms. Tilottama Ma’am, and to the enthusiastic students for making this day a shining example of collaboration. Together, we dream of a world where every child walks free.
